How often do you reapply

@@ProgressiveMaterials so I have 3 tab roof with sprayed on Urethane foam over top of it and snow coating applied. Can I proceed with your silicone roof on this surface? If I can use your product here can a person lengthen the longevity of that silicone roof by some type of conditioner or reapplication? I'm in sun country AZ and want to know if this could be a viable "maintenence service" once I've applied the initial coating. If people knew they could achieve perpetual good roofing coverage by strengthening the silicone roof periodically - this might be a winner 🥇

@@busymountain for sure. You can recoat silicone every so often to keep it working great. So you could even start with a smaller amount on the initial coating and offer a 5/10 year maintenance coating to keep business coming in. You can use a 1/4" or 1/2" roller.

Thanks for the comment, Tyler. That is what the test states but it is nearly impossible to pull 180 degrees on a roof so we standardize it by pulling at 90 degrees for our application purposes. This is the only place we do not follow the standard 100% and it's because it is not possible.

Rossco, our silicone will adhere to almost anything. We don't recommend it on cold tar roofs and some ballasted roofs, but it will work great on almost any other roof type. If you'd like a free sample to do a test, you can request one here: pmsilicone.com/request-sample/

Primer is not mandatory on modified bitumen when using our coating. Some people will use our bleed block primer (learn more here bit.ly/3lzaC9Y) to make sure the coating remains white, but for pure adhesion, a primer is typically not necessary. That's true, Steve. That's why we always stress to only apply over a dry substrate.

If the formula is a moisture cure it won't matter according to manufacturers. The roof will maintain its integrity.

Good question! Our clear skylight coating will allow sunlight in to help warm the house but does not act as an insulator.

@@americanrebel413 you could apply the coating yourself for sure! We do not give warranties on DIY jobs, but you could most certainly put it down yourself with a nap roller. Just make sure that the roof has been cleaned properly and is completely dry and follow all instructions on for a metal roof job. Thanks for the comment, Wayne. We designed our translucent skylight sealant for this reason. If you notice, the skylight sealer is clear allowing sunlight into the building, waterproofing the skylight, and keeping it visible for safety reasons.

Hi Douglas. Thanks for commenting. You are correct that metal roofs expand and contract when the weather goes from hot to cold. However, our silicone coating is extremely flexible, so it doesn't tear as the roof moves. Regarding safety procedures on this project, we utilized a safety monitor during the entire process. Our coatings are also completely non-toxic, meaning there are no health concerns relating to installation without a respirator or skin protection.
